What we know about the coronavirus
The best ways to prepare and protect yourself
At Newport Natural Health, we feel great responsibility for the role we play in the health and wellness of our readers—even more important to us during this difficult time when we’re all being more cautious about how we engage with the world.
Like you, we are looking to do our part to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19, or coronavirus.
According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, as of this morning, there are 1,629 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the United States, with cases in 46 states and Washington, DC.
The CDC, WHO, and other government agencies have proposed a set of guidelines to help us prepare and protect ourselves. But we’re also seeing conflicting information throughout the popular social media channels.
We’re receiving questions like, is washing my hands for 20 seconds really going to make a difference? Should I be stocking up on surgical masks and rubber gloves? How much food do I need in the case of a quarantine?
What’s most important to us is that you stay safe and healthy, that we remain good citizens of our communities by keeping ourselves responsibly informed, and that we continue to be a resource for accurate information.
While we don’t have the answers to all of these questions, Julie McMurry is a Master of Public Health and the creator of Flatten the Curve–she does have the answers you’re looking for.
We urge you, dear reader, to visit her site for all of the evidence-based facts about coronavirus, what to expect, how to prepare, and how to protect yourself and your family.
Please also share Flatten the Curve with your friends and family members to ensure they, too, have the most up-to-date information.
Thank you, as always, for being a Newport Natural Health reader. I hope you and the people you love stay safe and healthy!
Yours in Health and Wellness,
